|Mr Iain Abbott (m)|
Iain trained at the old Norfolk and Norwich hospital as a registered general nurse before moving to London, working in several top London teaching hospitals overs the past 20 years. These included Guys & St. Thomas, St. Barts & The London and the Royal Free Hospital. His roles included managing trauma and accident and emergency departments. Whilst in London he completed several enhanced courses including minor injury and illness. On returning to Norfolk, where he was born, Iain worked in both secondary and primary care including the Walk-in-Centre and other local GP surgeries before coming to Taverham.
In his spare time he enjoys the theatre, walking his dogs and playing in a brass band.

|Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.|

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
